MLG Dallas less than 2 weeks away!
So it's been a while since the last update. Basically we have just been playing as much as we possibly can preparing for MLG Dallas on August 28th. Evilthief could not make it so we have been playing with Kigz, who is a very well represented rogue. We have been playing 50-60 games a day trying to adjust to the new player and have been quite successful. We've been playing on three different battlegroups, along with playing on TR vs pro teams trying to get as much practice as we can.
MLG Dallas is going to consist of eight teams from all around the world, which were all specifically invited to this tournament. It's good to see MLG inviting Koreans and Euros to the tournament, but I don't like the idea of an eight man tournament considering a lot of teams that normally would be going (EG) won't be there. We almost didn't get a spot because of our poor performance in MLG Columbus even though we have a brand new team. You would not believe what I had to do to get the final 8th spot of the tournament, but the important thing is, we will be there competing!
Of the eight teams, there will be five priest, mage, rogue teams, including SK, coL, Gravitas Gaming, HoN, and finally aAa. The only team we have not played against from this list is HoN but so far, we are pretty comfortable vs the other teams. SK, coL, and Gravitas are all from the US, while aAa is from Europe and HoN from Korea. x6 is also from Europe, and they have been known for counter comping anyone and everyone. They can play numerous classes and comps and you never really know what they are going to hit you with. The last time we saw them play, they were running paladin, bm hunter, death knight, but with the new patch that just came out, they might change it up. Fnatic's new team will be running rogue, warlock, shaman. They seem like the strongest competition out there right now because they don't have a losing record vs anyone. We played them some tonight, started off pretty bad, but worked out a strat and won the last 3 games we played them in,
so maybe we figured something out for them. And lastly eMazing Gaming, who also used to run paladin, bm hunter, death knight but rumors have been going around that they are trying out comps like ele shaman, hunter, paladin/druid. So we are not real sure what to expect from these guys either.
What to expect at MLG Dallas? Well you can expect probably the most competitive tournament this game has seen considering each team was hand picked by MLG officials to try to make this the most competitive as they could. Teams from US, Europe and Korea are going to be here. Also, you can expect a couple new players to the tournament scene like Kigz from our team, Woundman from Fnatic, and Reckful from coL, and Kintt from eMg! A lot of replacements have been happening in WoW, even EG is going through a replacement at the moment, but they just haven't quite found what they are looking for yet.
SK is coming off strong from two straight 1st place finishes in MLG Columbus and US Regionals in Germany. They will be competing at blizzcon along with TSG (who will not be in Dallas) so be sure to root our country on as they compete vs the other three regions!
