Update 4: DKT was ready to play when he showed up this morning. He was facing spartie at the chance to continue on to the lower bracket finals. He ended up losing the first map by very little, winning the second map by forefit, losing the third map in the last few seconds.

Update 3: Sparks fell to his second opponent in the 1v1 yesterday. He has been eliminated from the tournament but was positive on the experience gained from his first big LAN. DKT ended up losing one and winning another, putting him the lower-bracket semi-finals. He will play spartie this morning for a chance at the lower bracket finals! I have also added a video, sorry for some of the jumpiness, BAWLS does make you hyper ;).

Update 2:

The first round of the matches have finished. DKT was able to come away with a win while Sparks fell in the first round. DKT will continue on in the Upper Bracket as Sparks will face elimination in the lower bracket. Play will resume in the morning at 10AM CST.

Update 1:

I am here live at QuakeCon! I am going to try to get as much information out as possible and hopefully get some interviews up with the players tonight. The internet is REALLY slow and I have to deal with that right now as I try to navigate through everything.


Starting tomorrow, the QuakeLive team of Gravtias Gaming will be live at QuakeCon 2009. QuakeCon is the largest event for QuakeLive and is one of the LARGEST BYOC's in the world. DKT and Sparks will both be competing in the 1v1 Masters Tournament, something new that QuakeCon added this year.

Quake is not known to have as many events per year as other division like Counter-Strike will. This is the PREMIERE event for every quake player in the world to attend. It is speculated that around 12 European players will be attending the event this year.

While they have the Masters Tournament, they also have a 4v4 Capture the Flag and an Open 1v1 tournament.

I will be on site all weekend to bring you guys updates, pictures, and hopefully video throughout the event. Stay tuned to hear more from DKT and Sparks on how they have prepared for this event and how the event looks to pan out for them.
